Doris Freigofas, Daniel Dolz, Golden Cosmos and Nobrow 6

Currently the Münchner Bücherschau takes place at the Munich Gasteig. It's not a big show, but always worth visiting and as you can imagine I've had a close look at "Die schönsten deutschen Bücher", selected by the Stiftung Buchkunst. The competition for best book design is being restructured by the way: For German books published between 1 November 2010 and 31 March 2012 the competition closes on 31 March 2012.
This impressive screenprinted book „Von einem, der auszog das Fürchten zu lernen“ by Berlin based illustrator Doris Freigofas was rewarded with an honorary appreciation in the international competition "Best Book Design From All Over The World 2011". It's an adaption of the German fairy tale "The Youth Who Went Forth To Learn What Fear Was" by the Brothers Grimm and tells the story of a boy and his coming-of-age.
