Graphic designer Christoph Niemann wrote and illustrated for The New York Times a blog called "Abstract City/Sunday", mainly about his everyday life experiences. All sixteen chapters, including I LEGO N.Y. or Red Eye, were compiled in a book, designed by Paul Sahre. Now "Abstract City" is out in German as well (subtitle "Mein Leben unterm Strich", published by Knesebeck), therefore someone like me gets to know him and his books as well - haha! But I had read his name before - somewhere, couldn't remember where it was ... today I found it! His first book "Das gute Portrait" was published in 1998 by Maro Verlag as "Tolles Buch 9" edited by Armin Abmeier (here is the interview). The "Tolle Heft 31: Windsbraut" by T.C. Boyle was illustrated by Christoph Niemann as well.

After eleven years in New York he is based in Berlin/Germany again by the way. For more of his great books and illustrations please head over to his website.
